Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. We have had a great start to the new year and I am very honored to be at Pinacate Middle School as your principal. I am committed to continuing the Puma tradition of excellence for every student. I can already see from my warm reception that Pinacate is a very special place with enthusiastic and inquisitive teachers, and a dedicated support staff who all work together to serve students and their parents. I have lived in the southwest Riverside area for the past 30 years and have served the families of Menifee as a teacher for 10 years at both Bell Mountain Middle School and Menifee Middle School. Recently, I have been working in Riverside as a site administrator at Taft Elementary, Amelia Earhart Middle School and Martin Luther King Jr. High School. It is great to come closer to home and be part of the PUHSD family.

Pinacate Middle School is part of the Perris Union High School District Scholar Plus program and each of our students uses technology to support and extend their learning experiences. Aligned with our school plan and 21st century learning we have opportunities for students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). Our partnership with Project Lead the Way has opened the minds of our students and has laid the foundation for the pathways for success. Our students are also participating in the Code.org in our technology courses and learning the five languages of computers. Additionally, Pinacate has beginning band classes, foreign language and art electives for students to expand their opportunities. It is our focus to support students as they move forward in their pursuit to be college and career ready as they move to high school.

Please take some time to look around our website and get additional information about the opportunities for your child at Pinacate Middle School. Parents at Pinacate can access information through Infinite Campus to monitor grades, attendance, and communicate via email with teachers. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact me by phone, email or stop by the school to meet with me in person.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Brown

Greetings to all my Pinacate Families!!

I am excited to begin the new 2017-2018 school year. I extend a warm welcome to all of you and look forward to working with you.

I genuinely care about all of the Pinacate students and their families, which motivates me to try my best to ensure all students are receiving a quality education. Pinacate students deserves and will have a safe and positive learning environment. That is a top priority for me. Our entire staff focus is to support each student.

As the administrator over the 2017 promoting 8th grade class, a goal of mine is to create partnerships with the families of our students. Working together is a key part of student success and academic achievement. Students benefit when parents and guardians are involved in their formal education. We should have consistent communication between home and school for families to learn about what is happening at school and provide feedback to help us improve.

This school year Pinacate will provide wonderful opportunities for the academic and social development of our students through the implementation of our many academic programs and Positive Behavior Interventions Supports (PBIS). It is vital that we combine our efforts to help them succeed. Please feel free to contact me with questions, comments, or concerns. I am here to help. Thank you and this year will be a great year!!

Welcome new and returning Pinacate Pumas to the 2017-2018 school year!

I am so excited to be beginning a new school year at Pinacate Middle School. This is my third year as assistant principal at PMS and my 11th year working in the Perris Union High School District. Before coming to Pinacate, I taught all levels of English, 9-12, in the ELA department at Perris High School for eight years.

As a former student of Pinacate Middle School and graduate of Perris High School, it has been a privilege for me to have the opportunity to serve the schools and community in which I grew up and to give back to a new generation of Perris students and families.

Pinacate Middle School has developed many academic and extracurricular programs over the past several years to better ensure that our kids have the best experience possible during our two years together that prepares them for success in high school and beyond. From our sports programs and after school clubs to our campus-wide AVID program and technology classes, Pinacate has become a truly state of the art campus serving the needs of our wonderful kids and families.

I very much look forward to working with all of our students, families, and staff throughout another great year at Pinacate. My door is always open for questions, concerns, or feedback and I welcome your input and participation.

Welcome new and returning Pinacate Pumas to the 2017-2018 school year!

I am so excited to be back at Pinacate Middle School. I started in the Perris Union High School District as a teacher at Pinacate 15 years ago. In the 2007-08 school year I returned to PMS as Assistant Principal. This is my third time serving students and parents at PMS, and look forward to continuing to support all of the wonderful things happening at Pinacate. I have also served as a teacher and school administrator at various other schools as well, including Perris Lake High School, Perris High School, The Academy, and the Learning Skills Center.

Pinacate has always held a special place in my heart. I truly believe that Pinacate has the biggest impact on students’ future success. The dedicated, caring staff strive to meet the needs of all students. As administrator over 7th Grade students, I will work diligently to ensure students experience a positive first exposure to middle school, are treated fairly in all situations, and build the skills necessary to be successful in 8th Grade and beyond.
